I fell in love with boxing during my first lesson and that had a lot to do with Mark's friendly and relaxed attitude. I still get excited every time I go to training, whether that's once a week during a summer break, or 6 times a week before a fight. Mark's got me in the best shape of my life and is in my corner for every fight. He understands how my mind works and always comes up with the right words when I'm tiring before the final round. He's improved my fitness, my energy levels, my physique and my confidence. He's a great, complete trainer and I owe him more than I can express.

I have worked with a few different instructors over the years and Mark is by far and away the best. After retiring from competitive team sport, I got lazy, and slowly accumulated weight without really realising it, until I saw the photos from a friend’s wedding. I was very disappointed at how far I’d let myself go, something extreme was needed, and as I can struggle to motivate myself properly I knew I was going to need some professional help, this is where Mark and learning to box came in…..
We have been working together now for two and a half years and I must admit Mark has not only helped me achieve the goals we first discussed when we started but kept me motivated to continue working hard and achieve more than I would have thought possible when I first visited him
The sessions are always interesting, not only have I learnt a new skill which makes the sessions fun, but we work hard on all aspects of fitness, there are obvious side effects to having someone motivate you, work you hard and get to understand how best to attain these results from you. Not only have I lost weight, which was my primary goal, but with Marks help we have actually changed my body shape, I have toned up and have more confidence, not only in how I look but all aspects of my life.
Don’t get me wrong, the sessions are hard, the weights, press-ups, burpees and lunges make you ache after sessions, getting hit when sparring can hurt, its not needle work, its boxing, but the results speak for themselves. I can honestly say that without Mark to motivate me, talk me through why and how to execute things correctly, I would not have achieved half of what I have. Also I have made a friend, a friend that I sometimes hate and swear at, but none the less someone I respect and have the highest regard for.

I got in touch with Mark because I wanted to learn how to box while also getting fit. Having never really boxed before I'm not going to lie I was pretty intimated and thought Mark wouldn't be interested in training such a newbie and also someone who didn't want to actually fight.
I couldn't have been more wrong. Mark is the most approachable (and toughest) person I have ever met. His love for the sport is infectious and he really knows what he is talking about. His in-depth knowledge of the body and how it works means that he can adapt any exercise to suit your body type and ability. I've tried many times to get out of doing something and failed every time.
He has pushed me to do things which I would have never dreamed of doing but I have done them because I have full confidence in his teaching, and that he will be there every step of the way. Both of his one-to-one sessions and boot camps are challenging and hard work but great fun. I can't recommend Mark enough. If you want to learn any level of boxing, improve your fitness and be pushed to your limits, Mark is your man!
